Hello, who are you?
I'm sick of working on AP classes, Scholorships, Recomendation forms, Essays, DRWNG-PAINTNG Class ... so, here's a survey that I stole from ~maoisgod, who I don't even talk to anymore. hurhurhur.

Your name?
Melantha

If possible, your age?
17 3/4

When did you start drawing?
I started drawing when I could learn to pick up a crayon. I started seriously drawing when I was in eighth grade.

Which hand do you use for drawing?
Predominant righty.

Which is easier to draw - male or female?
I actually don't prefer one over the other; however, my style seems to suit men.

Which is easier to draw - long hair or short hair?
Short hair -- less to draw. =P

Is it easier to draw the head facing towards the right or the left?
Left.

Is it easier to draw the side view of the face or the front view?
For a human face, I prefer them to be facing upfront, or at least slightly turned.

What do you have problems in drawing?
I'm a very very very very slow artist. I also tend to be a perfectionist. I either pass in work late or I don't pass anything in at all.

What do you like to draw?
I love photo-realistic, black and white, human portraits. Also, I am discovering my love for drawing fruits.

Are you a traditional artist or a digital artist?
I used to do digital, but traditional artwork is much more powerful for me.

Where do you start drawing from?
I start with general shapes, forms, and impressions; and then I shade a little.

What is your drawing habit that you are aware of?
I don't trust any art tools. I only prefer to use my mechanical pencil and my finger. That's it.

Any tips for coloring/shading?
If you're shading with a reference, pay attention to subtle details -- that would make all the difference. Also, come to realize that the color red is not just the color red. In red, there are also traces of orange, yellows, and maybe greens.

How long does it take to finish a piece of art?
A full-blown-work-of-art-from-my-heart-and-soul? 20-40 hours.

What music do you listen to while you draw?
Mostly hard or classic rock. Sometimes classical and blues.

How long does it take you to come up with an idea?
Most of my thoughts come instantly.

Your favorite drawing utensils?
I like using pencils and charcoal. :D

Your favorite color/the color that you use a lot?
Black. White. Grey. xD

Your favorite style(s)?
Photo-realism, Semi-realism, and Surrealism.

What kind of artist are you aiming for?
Not sure if I'm going to be an artist for my whole life -- and especially not now. Once I start publishing books, I might be my own illustrator.

If my life was a movie.

YOUR LIFE WAS A MOVIE, WHAT WOULD THE SOUNDTRACK BE?
Yeah, I did it a lot, but, w/e c:

So, here's how it works:

1. Open your library (iTunes, Winamp, Media Player, iPod, etc)
2. Put it on shuffle
3. Press play
4. For every question, type the song that's playing
5. When you go to a new question, press the next button
6. Don't lie and try to pretend you're cool...

I don't care if you're a passerby or a watcher, but please comment on this journal! c: It will be painless (for the most part), I promise.

What I'd like to know from you is what kind of themes are you looking for in a book? You can explain it to me as something as vague as "friendship" or the subject matter itself, such as a soldiers POV in a great war. You get the idea ;D

And, um! Just list things in general that you would be interested in reading! I have plenty of ideas, but they're rough and I'm not at liberty to really discuss them yet until they're complete and actually being written. I'd just like to know what kind of genres would really catch your eye.

My Mom talked to her co-worker and friend the other day about my writing interests and skills. She gave my mom a link to a website where casual writers to published authors post up their written work. She said that editors look on that site and might use people's work in the papers or whatever (provided that they give credit, of course). Most of my friends, family, and teachers have encouraged me to branch out with my writing skills, beyond essays or private roleplays.

So! Help me out here, if you can, please. c: If you could link this journal to attract more widespread attention, I would be grateful.

.

Hello. is there anybody in there?
